subspace
As a top, I’m never more satisfied or full of pride than when I’ve helped a bottom reach subspace. Subspace is never a guarantee but with focus and a good connection to your domme the chances are very probable. For those of you lucky enough to have experienced it no explanation is needed but for the rest of my curious friends that are yet to, lets delve into what you may anticipate.
What is subspace?
Well, subspace is a state of mind achieved through total immersion in intense bdsm scenarios. Its a natural trance resulting from a change in the balance of the brain chemistry. Often brought on by the combination of both pain and pleasure your brain is flooded with endorphins, amongst other chemicals, helping many subs to endure more pain than usual. This can vary from increased pain tolerance or complete detachment, like an out of body experience. Submissives may also feel intense emotions, faint/light headed and disorientated. Achieving subspace is like a dance between mental and physical stimulation that gives way to that magical concoction of chemicals to the body.
with great highs inevitably there are great lows.
Similar to intoxication, though a natural high, this of course comes with risks and the dreaded comedown. It goes without saying that you must then trust your domme/mistress to provide the appropriate diligence and aftercare. As the sub you may not be able to make the rational decisions you usually would.
Safe words are something you would have been encouraged to use time and time again but they wouldn’t be of much use in a situation of this kind. This makes that 15 mins before and after a session that you may see as a waste of time all the more important. Rules and boundaries should be discussed beforehand and no matter how eager the sub the lines should not be crossed!
If a domme does not offer aftercare this is a red flag!
For me the connection is paramount for any top to recognise the needs of a bottom in subspace. Aftercare is just one of the many opportunities to connect with each other. mental safety is just as important as the physical.
make sure you’ve found the right domme who’s practises are healthy before you begin your journey into subspace.
